When we were expecting our 4th child, it became time to convert our den (a.k.a. man cave) to a bedroom for our son. We did not have it in our budget to purchase new bedroom furniture and our search for quality dressers made out of real wood proved fruitless. I decided to make a dresser and a bookshelf to match my childhood bunkbeds, which we would use once our son outgrew the toddler bed. After we returned home from the hospital with our daughter, Naomi, I went to work building the dresser, which has 4 drawers a shelf underneath to fit baskets for his toys and other miscellaneous items. Once completed, I build a small bookshelf to hold all of the children’s picture books. We chose Early American stain to match my childhood furniture.
